The Balearic islands
We have spent a wonderful summer in the Balearic islands. It started with Ibiza.
Ibiza is known to be a party island, flakes, mass tourism, with wonderful weather and beaches. It’s true. But thankfully for me it’s not only that.
Below, few pictures of mega yachts that we have seen in Ibiza. You might recognise Sy A, the biggest sailboat on earth « followed » us from Cartagena. Though we spent almost a month « together » I have never seen the color of his sails….
Eivissa is Ibiza’s biggest town. The pictures are not from me, I managed to never have my camera with me when I was in Eivissa… )=
Formentera is an island just south of Ibiza. You can almost swim between so I put it together.

Crystal clear water, white sand, more little fish than in an aquarium… no wonder there are a lot of people.

Some pictures of the rest of Ibiza :
Ibiza it’s nice. Maybe too nice. But I didn’t like it, too many people, I spent a month wondering which of the incorrectly anchored boats around would crash on us… I rescued 2 boats drifting unattended and one boat gently finished drifting in Kata Lind…
So good bye Ibiza.
We didn’t stop in Mallorca. They make boats pay almost everywhere even on your own anchor and it’s not cheep. When you try to get too much from the hen with golden eggs, you get nothing. There are so many dream places on earth, you couldn’t even see them in a lifetime, so next stop, Menorca.
Menorca is quiet compared to Ibiza. It’s not for party people, it’s for country side people. Two main cities, Ciutadella and the capital Mahon. Both are beautiful.
Ciutadella :
Mahon ;
Menorca can be a bit busy also :

And a lot of fun this summer :

But Balearic are not always nice and get angry sometimes. The weather can be bad.

Maybe on video
And also big and beautiful light storms (not so great when you have a 20m aluminium pipe over the head…) and hail big like the thumb…
But most of the time, it’s really good.
