Purpose of this website

This website has three purposes.

It’s a blog on the adventure made on Kata Lind (click on Kata Lind’s blog), it’s a platform to introduce epoxy and sandwich construction method in Iceland (click on Epoxy and Fiber) and it’s a place where I share my technical experience (as an automatism engineer, as a 10 years experienced worker in marine electronic on board of fishing boats, trawlers and cargoship and as an everyday user of these equipment) .

We have build our catamaran in Iceland and after a long and hard work (more than 18 000 hours) we are now travelling with her.

Kata Lind is build in sandwich, mainly fiberglass, with epoxy resin on a Divinycell core. This method is not used in Iceland and I had to import myself pretty much everything. I have develop a relationship with Sicomin in France. Sicomin is a world leading company in epoxy and everything around it.

While I was importing for myself material to build my boat, many people have asked me to import for them material because they were unable to find it, as me, in Iceland.

Today, with my experience and knowledge acquired during the construction of Kata Lind, I am still importing epoxy and other related product for who need. I am mainly selling products that I have used myself and know that it’s working fine, in one words, products that I can recommend.

Also, in technical data, I will share my experience on what is working and what is not, because unfortunately all equipment are not even and technical problem can really be annoying and hard to fix when far from home.
